Xavier Strings is a band that explores the versatility of the Violin and Viola with modern electronic instruments - keyboard, guitars and drum and bass. At its core, are sisters Janine and Janelle Xavier - two experienced and versatile Violinists, Violists and Vocalists. These improvisational specialists have performed in Europe and across the Caribbean, in a range of Jazz, Classical, Caribbean and fusion musical ensembles and as soloists.

They created and performed original work for the BBC and have also worked alongside a host of acts including local artists like the late Ras Shorty I, and the Love Circle, Black Stalin, Sean Daniel, Rikki Jai and Ravi B. Between them, they have graced the stages of Jazz, Music Festivals and Carnivals in Trinidad and Tobago and the UK.

Xavier Strings is fast becoming the entertainment of choice in the diplomatic and corporate circles, and for special events of all kinds. They’ve launched cars for AUDI, rocked out Movietowne and played for the Prime Minister.

You haven’t heard the violin like this before. The sisters are intrigued by the music of their home and travels. They constantly explore styles of different origins to create a fresh interpretation of popular music.
