Mystic Elements began during the musical journey of Rastafarian and Drummer/Musician, Anthony "Stoney" Grant in 2008 in Trinidad and Tobago. After playing drums in other bands for many years, he began experimenting with different styles and creating instrumentals on Digital Audio Stations.

He pushed to create music with a distinctive sound. What he created was solid, groovy, heartfelt reggae music, with no-nonsense living drum and bass, and infectious sweet, intense melodies on the strings and keys. The two central themes of the music were “Mysticism” and the “The Elements”. Eager to capture this, Stoney started putting together a band to bring the music to life.

He began by working with the amazing voice of Trinidad born and internationally known reggae artist Jah Defender. To back him up, he put together a band of skilful players and developed a set list of originals meshed together with well-known Jah Defender songs. As the band grew, they started doing gigs with other top quality Trinidad born reggae singers such as: Jah Son, Royal Dainties, Prince of Judah, Justin Cross, Queen Omega, Zebulun, Foundation Stone, Black Loyalty, Jesarai, Nish and others.

After a few changes, the line-up settled and became: Anthony Grant (Drums), Dominic Gomes (Bass), David Joachim on (Lead Guitar), Asim Pottinger (Rhythm Guitar) and Chris Mc Coon (Keyboard).

From 2009-2010 and then again in 2011, Mystic Elements went on a hiatus as Anthony began drumming for other bands and became one of the hardest working session drummers in the country. Then in 2012, he had to leave for England with the local legends Orange Sky to do a studio recording.

2013 sees the re-emergence of Mystic Elements. The band’s focus at present is recording its first studio album. The band also plans to travel and find its place in the international scheme of live music. With a special love for the stage and performing live, the Mystic Elements family will keep creating live music experiences for their fans.
