The band Pantar was formed in 1994 by Mungal Patasar. The concept for the formation of the band was founded on the philosophy that music is a universal language that eclipses mundane physical and ethnic boundaries. The name Pantar originated from the two lead instruments in the band, namely the steelpan (PAN) and the sitar (TAR). The music itself tells a story transcending the fetters of human interaction while embracing the world.
