Witnessing the creation, in the studio, of Superblue’s Road March hit ‘Pump Me Up’ and his many Soca Monarch performances, definitely influenced Kenny’s love for soca music.
Having had a brief appearance as the lead singer for local rock band 5 Miles to Midnight from November 2008 to December 2009, Kenny introduced the genre of soca music to their repertoire, the bands popularity quickly grew; making appearances at establishments such as Woodford Café, Fiesta Plaza, Tsunami, Benihana and More Vino.
With his roots strongly embedded in soca, in February of 2010, Kenny became one of the frontline singers for the band ‘Reelest8’, which was formally known as ‘Surface’. During the next 8 months, Kenny crafted his performing abilities under the tutor ledge of band leader, Gordon Samuels. In October, 2010 because of his commitment at the University of Southern Caribbean, Kenny decided to become a solo artiste.
In December 2010, Kenny recorded his first soca song, ‘Slow Mo’ with Klase Gonzales at 1st Klase Productions and has recently done a club remix of the track with Random Design Studios, which created a buzz in clubs located in New York and Miami and was shortly after released in Trinidad and Tobago in the Summer of 2011.
As he prepares for Carnival 2k12, Kenny is currently working on projects with producers GB and Nutron, Darryl Braxton and Klase Gonzales.
