About

Kees Dieffenthaller began performing in the late 90's, fronting a cover band that specialized in Billboard chart-toppers, and popular soca and reggae tracks. Due to his vocal range, stage presence, good looks, and uncanny ability to mimic popular artists, Kees quickly created a buzz and attracted a large, loyal following. On the crest of all this success and momentum, Kees exited the cover band circuit in 2005 and formed his own band, KES, with the dream to pursue great original music. Featuring his brothers Hans (drums), Jon (lead guitar), and best friend Riad Boochoon (bass), Kees was now able to work with similarly focused members on creating original music that could have international appeal.

Since branching out on their own, Kes (the band) has managed to achieve significant success on a worldwide scale! For starters, the band has released several albums, (Three Baldheads & a Dread, Lion and On in Five), with more than a dozen tracks making it into the top 10 of major Caribbean charts. Additionally the band has won numerous awards for songwriting; toured globally, performed at major festivals and events in the United States, Canada and Germany; opened for acts such as Sean Paul, Musiq Soul Child, Usher, John Legend, and Rihanna; and had their music featured on television shows broadcast on MTV and BET, as well as licensed tracks to popular games on major video game platforms.

In November 2007 Kees was flown to Nashville Tennessee to work with multiple Grammy Award Winner Desmond Child. The song he co-wrote with Child was recorded by American Idol Ace Young and is featured on his self title album

Kes recently cut tracks with Maxi Priest and Aftermath signed artiste Bishop Lamont. These are due for release later this year. At the 2009 LA ASCAP Conference Kes was selected out of hundreds to perform at the showcase and left everyone clamoring to meet them.

Kes the band’s unique blend of soulful vocals and calypso-inspired melodies, over a fusion of rock riffs and island beats, hints of soca and reggae, can best be described as Caribbean Pop. This style has elevated Kes to stardom, allowing the band to become a household name in Trinidad & Tobago and throughout the Caribbean circuit including Miami, New York, Los Angeles, but also garnering attention from the mainstream market, where they consistently win over audiences with their electric and high-energy performances!
