David Degree

At first glance many may underestimate or be clueless as to what this talented young man is capable of. David Degree plays music with both style and undeniable flair. He is not on only a dj, but believes in being an entertainer, a personality at the highest level, even being known to be quite versatile on a microphone having moved many a crowd with his mc capabilities. His story into the industry is somewhat different from most dj’s . At the age of 18 his passion and love for music was established from a young age, being involved with a local hip-hop group and production of music and spending most of his spare time in studio as opposed to perfecting his craft at dj-ing. As time passed his call to the art of dj-ing was too powerful to deny and he decided to pursue the artform. Fast Forward to present this determined BSc Computing And Information Systems graduate is known for his brisk and innovative mixing abilities on the turntables.
At the age of 23 this mild mannered dj, tranforms when on a set, and stives to not only play music to the best of his ability, but put on a show like performance, and strives for perfection and enhancing his skills. David Degree by no means is your average dj, he’s a cut above the rest and strives to be the evolution of dj’s; he strives to be the future of the artform.

Having started his trade with his own ‘soundsystem’ Soundzamatic Asylum after being intrigued by some of his favorite ‘soundsystems’ such as X-Caliber Disco, Jugglers International & Mighty Crown just to name a few, he had many a hardship and hurdles to overcome which he did over a period of time but wasn’t contented with the level of success attained over this period. He was later ‘drafted’ into Crossfiya International, where he worked alongside Runako ‘Nako’ Greaves and during this period was exposed to a lot and began to develop his craft quite quickly and began to create a name for himself within the industry. During this period of being a Crossfiya ‘soundman’ he was aligned under the management of 868 Native and Marc Clarke, which allowed him to do many gigs with some Corporate Entities and major nightclubs and he worked alongside Kerron ‘Junior K’ Brown of Cyberia Sounds. This pairing flourished at an exponential rate and lead to David Degree joining the Cyberia camp, where he continues to be at up to this day and they have created quite a brand for themselves, being known as ‘the University Star Sound’ and which has also recently evolved. David Degree has worked on The Street 919FM where he’s an on air personality working in the capacity of Disc Jockey, Announcer and has also worked as a Programme Director and Graphics Manager for the station. His personal creed of ‘Be Versatile’ is seen by his accomplishments of being in this industry for 5 Years, 4 of which was spent on radio and a professional level. His latest accomplishment would be making the transition from the Street 91.9FM to Boom Champions 94.1FM
