At a very young age he developed a passion for music and aspired to be an entertainment icon. Akil is the co-owner of Associate Degree Sound System. His distinctive voice as the MC of Associate Degree earned him a spot on the number 1 radio station in the country, 96.1 FM in 2000. Over the years, Akil and Associate Degree has become one of the most sought after in the Caribbean and well poised to attain international notoriety. Placing the emphasis on pleasing his audience & keeping it real has formed most of his signature style. With an undeniable love for music and a thirst for success in his projects - including hosting events/parties (the most prominent of which is Associate Degree’s Anniversary); his initial stint in front the camera in ’08 and making his Sound System – Associate Degree a household name.
His plans include becoming more socially aware and spreading the message of responsibility to the youth. Relatable, style-conscious and forever grateful for his blessings which include his two sons & a budding career, Akil has his sights set TO THE WORLD... Are you buckled up?
