About UWI University Field Station

The University Field Station (UFS) provides technical resources, land, building and equipment to support field-based research and teaching of UWI. Between 1949 and 1962 the UFS was maintained as a commercial farm to support teaching exercises of the Imperial College of Tropical Agric (ICTA). At present in addition to supporting teaching and research the UFS undertakes commercial activities whenever possible.

The University Field Station (UFS) is located at the West end north and is the site where Departmental Field operations are undertaken. Field based research and teaching activities are located here. The operations in the field are manned by Departmental human resources.
