The International School of Port of Spain

The International School of Port of Spain. ISPS was founded in 1994 and provides education to more than 400 students from 30 plus countries. We are an accredited, private, independent school and have received full reaccreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in June 2009.

ISPS offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program in prekindergarten through grade five and we are recognized as an IB World School. Our middle school provides an integrated and experiential education to students in grades six through eight and is focused on the needs of adolescents. Our high school offers an excellent international education that is based on a US curriculum model that allows students to take advantage of many AP course options. Our programs encourage students to participate in the construction of deep learning as they acquire the skills, knowledge, and values that are necessary for them to be productive individuals in an interdependent world. A focus on human diversity and our place in an international community is emphasized and celebrated.

ISPS students receive a challenging and enjoyable college preparatory program that encourages students to develop as well rounded individuals. Students experience many opportunities to grow and expand as individuals through participation in Art, Information Technology, after school programs, athletics, and through structured field experiences that take place in domestic and international contexts. We value the individual nature of each learner and strive to develop self-esteem and a love of learning for its own sake.
