Santa Rosa R.C. Church

Established 20th April 1786 as the Indian Mission of Santa Rosa de Arima on the foundations of a Capuchin Mission previously established in 1749.

Santa Rosa is the second oldest parish in the Diocese of Port of Spain

The Parish of Santa Rosa has pastoral responsibility for the main community of Santa Rosa as well as for five smaller satellite communities. The following are the names of the communities and the Lay Ministers who work with the priest for the care of these communities:

Mondays and Saturdays from 9:00am – 12 noon
Tuesdays to Fridays from 9.00am – 5.30pm

Saturday Vigil Mass: 5 p.m., 7 p.m.
Sunday Mass: 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 6.30 p.m.
Weekday Mass: Mon to Fri 6 a.m., First Fri 6 p.m.
Public Holiday: Mass, 7 a.m.
Reconciliation: Tues, Fri 4 – 6 p.m.
Adoration: Mon 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Before and after all Masses

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession)
Every Tuesday and Friday 4.00pm – 6.00pm at Santa Rosa Church or upon request at any other time

The Sacrament of Baptism
The sacrament is celebrated with infants and young children on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. Parents and Godparents are required to be members of the Roman Catholic Church (see article on Godparents). Parents who request the parish to Baptize their children must be attending church regularly. They are also asked to attend a meeting on the Tuesday before the Baptism Ceremony in the Parish hall at 7.00pm.
