About Indian Caribbean Museum of Trinidad and Tobago
The Indian Caribbean Museum of Trinidad and Tobago, established on May 7th 2006 by the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha, is a museum dedicated to preserving the history of Indo-Caribbean Culture in Trinidad and Tobago from the arrival of indentured labourers in 1845 to the present.
In 2013, National Geographic Magazine named the museum one of "500 Sacred Places of a Lifetime". The museum's collection includes artwork, photographs, documents and historical books, musical instruments, religious items, clothing, cooking utensils and agricultural objects.
The museum is located near the Temple in the Sea at Waterloo, Trinidad and is the only one of its kind in the Caribbean.
