Edinburgh Dance Studio

Edinburgh Dance Studio opened its doors in 1994 at the CWU Hall in Port of Spain. Since then we have grown from strength to strength and now operate a full dance studio. We are proud to produce some of the best dancers in Trinidad and most recently, even the best dancer in T&T. Mr. Dexter McKay is the principal of Edinburgh Dance Studio,and who holds an Associate Degree in Ballroom and a Teachers Diploma in Argentine Tango. Mr Mckay has been dancing for over 20 yrs and has also competed in a number of local dance competitions, placing first. Edinburgh Dance Studio holds the record for the only school to have won the national competition three times in a row.

Mr.Mckay has taught dancing in a number of primary and secondary schools in Trinidad,and is currently teaching the visually impaired ballroom dancing.

Mr. McKay is the First Vice President of the National Ballroom Dance Association of Trinidad and Tobago (NABDATT),
Vice Chairman for IDTA Trinidad Area, an Executive Member of the Professional and Amateur Dance Association (PADATT) and a Senior Coach on the National Dance Team. He is also the Head Tutor of the Rhythmic Dance School. He serves as a judge at most local dance competitions and has also judged at Caribbean Regional Dance Competition (Ballroom and Latin).

Mr Mc Kay is the only coach thus far to have trained dance athletes resulting in the winning of a gold medal at an international dance competition.

Edinburgh Dance Studio is a brand new Studio large air conditioned studio that caters for all types of dancing: Ballroom, Latin, Hip Hop, Belly Dancing, Tap, Jazz, Folk, Aerobics, etc.
