magine seeing veteran comedian, Learie Joseph singing John Legend’s ballad, “All Of Me.” Will he be suavely romantic or his usual zany and of kilter self? Well, you have the chance to see exactly what Joseph will do with that beloved ballad when he performs it at the Mothers Day Comedy Festival being presented by Randy Glasgow Productions on May 9 at the Buccoo Integrated Facility, Tobago and Mothers Day, May 11 at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. This show is being tailored to be an exceptionally wonderful experience for all mothers in attendance. RGP will be featuring a select lineup of comedians, actors, calypsonians and soca artistes who will all deliver presentations designed to treat the mothers and have them laughing as well as dancing in their seats all night long. Of course there will be no objection by RGP if any of the women decided to get up out of their chairs and free up. Among the artistes performing will be five-time National Humorous Calypso Monarch, Myron B who just last week completed a hattrick when he retained the title at the competition’s final. Myron B had the audience doubled over with laughter, some of them even flew out of their seats during his performance of, “One More Sip” in the first round and “Take Carla Back” in the second. Myron B has over the years built a repertoire of great songs that includes “Baby Roll Over,” “Bottom In Yuh Face,” “Boy Of Wood” and “Ladies Gentleman.” Also performing will be Benjai who has always sent the women wild whenever he performs. Benjai has an extensive repertoire of soca, ragga soca and also reggae songs among them major hits such as, “Come Out To Play,” “Trini,” “The People’s Champion,” “Feter: and “True Story.” Benjai will let it all hang out and he just may be joined on stage by some folks who will add some spice to his performance, which will definitely impress the ladies. There will be other favourite singers of the people especially of women added to the lineup as the weeks towards the show counts down. As for the comedy aspect of the show RGP is assembling the most sought after standup comedians, comedic actors and theatre groups for the show. These will be required to present brand new routines and skits focusing on motherhood along with a wide range of other issues, political, social and otherwise. The performers will include Kenneth Supersad, Knuts Landing, Delores Alexander and The Saint.
