After a successful run at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (South NAPA) earlier this year, Iere Theatre Productions Ltd. brings a Brighter Sun to life on stage at Naparima Bowl on September 14th and 15th 2013. A Brighter Sun was the first of ten published novels by Trinidadian writer, Samuel Selvon who migrated to England in the early 1950s. The novel was scripted by Davindra Dookie and Pearl Eintou Springer. Director Victor Edwards, who has celebrated the success of three major productions over the last two years, Eric: The Musical, Temple in the Sea & the much publicized Re-enactment of Indian Arrival on Nelson island, has engaged an enthusiastic cast of different ages to present riveting performances for audiences to contemplate and enjoy. The cast comprises both young and mature actors from Iere Theatre and San Fernando Theatre Workshop.
