ABOUT UN.BOXED

Un.Boxed is an Art Therapy exhibition, which explores the subject of domestic abuse from the perspective of the survivor. The exhibition which is a culmination of a three - day Art Therapy workshop, features the work of individuals who have experienced domestic abuse and have engaged in a reflective or therapeutic process.

This exhibition represents the survivors’ journey of courage and resilience. By creatively transforming their box or container, survivors Un.Box, share their stories, and reflect on their trauma in a meaningful way, with the intention of encouraging dialogue among survivors, mental health professionals, support services and the general public.

There is also an interactive element to the exhibition, where viewers are encouraged to respond to the survivors’ artwork and to their own experiences through creating response art.

Graphic design: Nadia Huggins
