Directors: Dahlia Dennison 2012, Trinidad + Tobago English Documentary short / 30 minutes THIS FILM TELLS the inspiring story of the Merikins, descendents of enslaved Africans from the United States, who fought for the British in the War of 1812. After the war they were brought to Trinidad, where they set up their own villages in the south of the island, and formed a unique community.
