Talk Tent 2017

Trinidad and Tobago’s Annual Carnival Talk Tent is back and will take place at Queen’s Hall Conference Centre from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th March 2017. The longest running Talk Show in Trinidad and Tobago, the Talk Tent, first produced by Paul Keens-Douglas has been promoting the many facets of the Oral Traditions since 1983.

Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th March 2017 - 8:00pm

Sunday 5th March 2017 - 6:30pm

Featuring performers such as Miguel Browne, Farida Chapman, Felix Edinborough and Short Pants, all teachers and educators, and hosted by singing MC David Bereaux, the show has now become a popular after-carnival event with many fans looking forward to its unique performances.

Talk Tent is one of the few shows in Trinidad & Tobago where one can be assured of top quality, edifying, and highly humorous entertainment suitable for all audiences.

This year we mourn the passing of one of our most popular presenters, Hal Greaves, well known for his topical social commentary as a part of the team of “Roy and Gloria.” We dedicate the 2017 Talk Tent to his memory and in recognition of his use of oral traditions as a medium to bring about social change.

Each year, the Tent features talented well-known and up and coming artistes as special guests. This year’s audiences will enjoy the beautiful voice of popular vocalist Brian Carimbocas and Tobago’s spoken-word poet Kleon McPherson, back by popular demand following his 2016 guest appearance.

An unsponsored show, the Talk Tent depends on the support of its fans, supporters and those who recognize the importance of its role in preserving this genre of Caribbean culture. Books, CD’s and DVD’s of the various artistes will also be available at special show prices.

Tickets for all shows are priced at $200.00 and are available at Cleve’s, Crosby’s, RIK Trincity/Gulf City, Valini’s Drug Mart (58 Sutton St., San Fernando) and at Queen’s Hall Box Office.
