Symphonic Memories

Harmony of the Sphere, Backyard Vibes, Down by the River, The Secret Garden, The Harvest, Trini Vibes, Sacred Domine… like a never-ending symphony, we seem consequently bombarded by subliminal images gushing or pulsating out of possibly an unconscious sphere. Consc(ient)ious of this, it becomes imperative that the aesthetically inclined emulate these rhythms in an attempt to manifest an otherwise indescribable state of enlightenment for the evolution of its society. I see myself as a constant gardener ploughing, probing, enriching and thereby harvesting from the womb of sustenance; that state of Nirvana where the living vibration is interceded within my Caribbean roots. This collection of paintings entitled Symphonic Memories is the result of this creative process. They are recollections of my childhood journeys around the countryside, precious memories of my yesterdays encapsulated by colour, texture and form. Glenn Roopchand, September 2013.
