Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Details

I look forward to this show, because the drawings and the original wooden sculptures span a period of 15 years of my work. The bronzes came from the bronze caster Schmaeke in Duesserldorf Germany, where I did did work on most of the waxes of the heads, making features finer and more distinct. I am also very pleased with the difference the bronze caster made in the texture of the clothes, hands and faces of the bronzes. The title for the exhibition came to me early one morning as I usually get up at 5am to feed my dogs and to have breakfast. I always sing "One Day" and " Oh What a Beautiful Morning" on my way down to my studio to work. Then the song " Somewhere over the Rainbow" just came to my head. Art is a very meaningful part of my life and I hope you too will enjoy and feel inspired by this collection of drawings and sculptures. Luise Kimme
