Saut D'eau Beach Cookout

Presented by the UWI Health Fitness and Adventure Society

Hikers,
Come Sunday 6th March, 2016 we will be heading to the beach-base where St Peter will give us blessings of health, strength, stamina, camaraderie and friendship to surmount the summit of the veritable Saut D' eau hill!!!

After soaking in the crystal clear waters of the beach, we return to the top where we will be mesmerized by panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, Saut D' eau Island, Santa Cruz/Maracas Valley and Port-of-Spain environs, all while bbq-ing chicken and fish.

This hike is difficult (Level 7) The trail is extremely steep through humid sweltering rainforest that elevates sharply for two (2) hours on the way back up from the beach, making breathing very difficult.
Hikers are advised to hydrate adequately from 3 days before.

Hike Rating: 7/10 (difficult)
Cost: $150.00 (for members) and $160 (for non-members). This Includes:-Transport (Return Trip), lunch of bbq chicken or fish, rice and salad, guide and equipment fee, Gatorade, fruit (seasonal)
Assembly: 7:45 am at JFK Shuttle Stop, U.W.I Main Campus.
Departure time: 8:30am.
Estimated time of return: 6pm

Guidelines:
1. Have a proper shoes with good sole grips. (No slippers)
2. Pack an extra change of clothing (to remain in maxi taxi).
3. Start hydrating at least 3 litres of water per day until Sunday.
4. Hikers must have at least 2 litres of their own water.
5. No long jeans, thick cotton tops or clothing that will absorb and retain large amounts of water.
6. Secure all electrical items.
7. No littering, alcohol or smoking allowed.
8. Walk with any medication you may require (asthma, allergies etc)

Registration WILL BE OPENED ON MONDAY 22ND FEBRUARY, 2016 and can be done at the Administration office upstairs SAC by Ms Jamira Marcano (326-7315) from 9am to 3pm.
FINAL Registration day is on Friday 4th March, 2016 and can be done from 5pm to 7pm at Rituals Coffee Shop, UWI Main Campus, St. Augustine.
