Road Trip: Valencia Nature Centre and Heritage Park & The Caroni Bird Sanctuary

My Team Events is at it again! For our second Road Trip of 2013 we're giving you two amazing experiences all in one adventure packed day! We're visiting the: Valencia Nature Center and Heritage Park with activities such as: • Horseback riding • A Hike to the La Seiva River • A Mini Petting Zoo • Outdoor Gazeboes, Swings, Hammocks and Gardens We're also going on a guided tour of the Caroni Bird Sanctuary!!! The sanctuary spans a massive 5,611 hectors of mangrove forest, herbaceous marsh, numerous waterways creating a maze-like environment. You will be treated to a boat ride along the swamp’s water channels where you will witness the vast species of wildlife in their natural habitat. The Caroni Bird Sanctuary is home to 125 species of birds, crabs, herons, iguanas, oysters, snakes, mudskippers and caimans! The sanctuary provides a variety of habitats for both floral and faunal species and as such, supports a rich biodiversity. Experienced and professional guides will provide you with information throughout the tour. As sunset nears, the main attraction of the swamp the Scarlet Ibis, which is one of T&T's National Birds can be seen in their thousands returning from Venezuela after feeding, to roost in the protection of the dense green mangrove.
