View upcoming events Add eventIn November 2013, the NGC Bocas Lit Fest heads to San Fernando and Chaguanas for a weekend of readings and workshops, giving readers in South and Central Trinidad a taste of the annual literary festival. On Saturday 16 November, a programme of readings hosted at two local bookshops — RIK Services in Gulf City Mall, La Romaine, and Nigel R. Khan Booksellers in Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas — will feature a line-up of both celebrated and emerging authors, plus a performance poetry jam with some of T&T’s finest exponents of the popular genre. Writing from the Southland 11:00–11:45am Perspectives of contemporary Trini life in the fiction of South-based writers Joanne Haynes, Willi Chen and Michael Cozier. Commonwealth Writers Prize Showcase 11:45–12:30pm Fiction readings with Earl Lovelace, 1997 Commonwealth Writers Prize winner (Overall Winner, Best Book), and Sharon Millar, 2013 Commonwealth Writers Prize winner (Overall Winner, Short Story). Lunchtime Jam 12:30–1:15pm Spoken word performances by the 2 Cents Movement in the Gulf City Mall atrium.
