María Luisa Bombal, one of Chile's most important writers, struggled to reconcile her sexually passionate lifestyle with her socialite 1920s life among Santiago's conservative elite. The film focuses on the ten days leading up to the attempted murder of her lover, Eulogio Sánchez, exposing the emotional blindness that lead the author to lose her mind and turn her life into what seems like an unbelievable work of fiction.
