Come experience the laughter, love and life that once was as we entertain you with at evening of nostalgia! "Maya" which translates to "illusions in English", highlights the rich history of East Indians in Trinidad during the 1920's in the aftermath of Indentureship System. A love story comes to life on stage, capturing this era of social upheaval and radical change. It depicts a forbidden love between two childhood sweethearts, Anand and Neela that centuries of tradition had tried to outlaw. These star crossed lovers find themselves in the midst of a battle between the pressures of conformity and creolization. In order to be together they must find some way of eroding the very foundation that this society was built upon and awaken a people out of a dream state of caste illusions.
