Let's Tell Stories: An Evening With Paul Keens-Douglas

Southerners are in for a treat as Paul Keens-Douglas heads for SAPA on Saturday June 13th at 8pm to put on one of his special performances. Entitled " Let's Tell Stories…An Evening with Paul Keens-Douglas".

The show will see Paul presenting some of his popular stories in an atmosphere designed to recreate those magic moments of yesteryear, when we used to sit as a family and talk to each other, tell stories and simply enjoy each other's company.

It was in the telling and the talking and the listening that were the beginnings of the understanding. Paul will be pulling from his wide repertoire of colorful material, not just to entertain and educate, but also to preserve, and ensure that some of our traditional and memorable stories are not lost for lack of telling. If stories are not told, they die. Every time we tell them, they live again.

Shows like these are small efforts to ensure that we don't forget, to remind us of how it used to be and how it still can be, if someone only cared. Joining Paul on stage will be special guests popular San Fernando dramatist Avion Crooks, well known for her theatrical and storytelling ability and the versatile David Bereaux, storyteller par excellence in the world of Calypso.

With this line-up there is no doubt that this will be an evening of clean, quality, fun and enjoyment and should be great for teachers, students, literary enthusiasts and family entertainment.

Tickets are only $200 and are available at Cleve's (Fred. St.), RIK (High St. and Gulf City), and Valini's Drug Mart, Sutton St., San Fernando.
