International Soprano Monique McDonald In Concert

Come hear internationally acclaimed Soprano soliost Monique McDonald in one night of spectacular singing. As a soloist, Monique has performed at world-famous venues including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, New York Festival of Song, The Marilyn Horne Foundation, Caramoor Music Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, Santander and Verrano en La Villa Festivals-Spain, Italian Embassy in Paris (Italian and American Ambassadors in attendance), and commanded solo performances for the Prince of Monaco and the King of Belgium. She has also appeared on several Grammy-nominated recordings.

A native New Yorker, Ms. McDonald has been a life-long student of her mother, Betti McDonald. In addition to being accepted into The Juilliard Opera Center, other honors include the Sullivan Foundation Award, the first Leonie Rysanek Award in the George London Competition, first prize winner of the Palm Beach Opera Competition, and first prize winner in the Eleanor McCollum Competition at Houston Grand Opera.

On Saturday October 28th, Monique will present a varied program that includes not only classical masterpieces, but also several spirituals, broadway tunes and other favorites.

On Sunday October 29th she will host a Masterclass/Workshop at USC's Vernon Andrews Amphitheater from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.

Both events are free, but patrons are asked to walk with a generous donation in support of USC's Music Scholarship Fund.
