The European Film Festival (EFF) began in 1996. It showcases films from European and is organised by the European Union (EU) Member States with diplomatic missions in Trinidad and Tobago — France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom — and the EU Delegation. For the fourth consecutive year, the EFF is being presented in association with the trinidad+tobago film festival (ttff). Founded in 2006, the ttff is an annual celebration of films from and about Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and its diaspora. The Festival also screens films curated from contemporary world cinema.
The Poll Diaries
It's the summer of 1914. Thirteen-year-old Oda von Siering arrives in Poll, Estonia, from Berlin with her mother's body in a coffin, and a gift requested by her surgeon father, Ebbo: a two-headed human foetus in a jar. While Ebbo conducts gruesome experiments in his laboratory, Oda discovers a wounded soldier and secretly begins to help him. As war closes in and an old world collapses, the relationship between father and daughter is sorely tested.
