Australian Indigenous Cultural Group Descendance

The Australian High Commission is pleased to announce the arrival of the Australian Indigenous cultural group Descendance to Trinidad's shores, 30 April to 4 May, 2016.

The performers, who are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, will be performing in Trinidad at a number of events. Some of these include:

1. A free public performance at the Bandstand, Botanical Gardens, in front of the President's residence, on 1 May from 5-6pm. Families, lovers of dance, culture and music are invited to attend. Audience participation is encouraged! Please bring your folding chairs to enjoy this award winning show covering Indigenous songs and dances from Descendance's finest performers.

2. A workshop with faculty and students of UWI Department of Creative and Festival Arts on 3 May, from 5-7pm

3. A workshop with Malick Folk Performers and Shiv Shakti Dance
