Face off against your fellow players in the ultimate game of wits and strategy!
The Arima Children's Library's Board Games Club presents a Chess Experience like you'd never seen before, and you're invited!
Remember, it's not over until somebody declares "Checkmate!"
RECOMMENDED FOR INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED CHESS PLAYERS.
ALL PLAYERS MUST BE MEMBERS OF THE LIBRARY TO COMPETE.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Venue: Arima Children's Library, #31 Pro Queen Street, Arima
Date: Saturday 25th June, 2016
Time: 9:00am - 3:30pm
Age Limit: 7-12
FORMAT:
Type: Elimination
Round Limit: 1 Hour
Win Conditions: A win will be declared for a player under the following circumstances:
- A player is forced into a 'checkmate' situation (the King cannot legally move out of harm's way)
- A player willingly surrenders (done by tipping over their King)
- A player's opponent is disqualified, retires from the tournament.
- A player is awarded a 'bye' due to having no opponent.
- If the round time expires: Every piece captured will have a set value. The player who has the most points will be declared the winner. The point values are as follows: PAWN (1 PT), KNIGHT or BISHOP (3 PTS), ROOK (5 PTS), QUEEN (9 PTS)
Refreshments for all contestants will be provided.
