EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS WORLDWIDE
YWCA is one of the oldest women's volunteer movements in the world. It reaches approximately 25,000,000 women and girls through work in 22,000 communities and 125 countries worldwide.
The main purpose of YWCA is development of young women's leadership. YWCA is a safe space for young women to discover their potential and get empowered. YWCA grows strong community women leaders that are committed to economic justice, fighting racism, gender equality, peace and promotion of women's human rights.
Membership is open to men and boys.
‘Our common purpose is the development of women leaders who commit themselves to work for change in their communities and beyond'
-- Musimbi Kanyoro, past General Secretary, World YWCA --
