He started singing at 16yrs old and his first appearance on stage was singing film songs and singing in temples. He gave Chutney a try with his very first song "DON'T HOLD ME BACK". He took a break from singing until 2003 when he released "LISTEN MR SHANKAR" which gave him notoriety in both the Chutney and Soca arenas as this selection was used to compete at Soca Monarch. He was also one of the singers for the popular Chutney Soca "JEP STING NAINA"
