The play TAKDIR, which translates as "Fate" or "Destiny", is an authenticated love story of real indentured labourers, researched by anthropologist Shamshu Deen and corroborated by Nagamagh (now deceased) who came to Trinidad & Tobago as a child (daughter) of Ammakunnu, the woman around whom the main story revolves.
The play was written by Victor Edwards, the playwright of the unforgettable SUNDAR, a play depicting the life and cultural contribution of Sundar Popo to our country.
