To experience the true magnificence of Matura one has to explore the river with its fascinating pools, waterfall and gorges. The majestic trees that border the bank are mainly Mora, and they add splendor to the already picturesque scenery. The river as it meanders through the valley passes through a region of untouched and uninhabited woodland. The serenity of the forest creates a relax sensation to sit on the rocks and sway one’s feet in the soothing water. The sun shining on the crystal clear waters radiate vibrant colors of emerald green. A popular spot in the river is the area referred to as Mermaid Pool where there is a large pool to swim and unwind.

Cost: $160 (Adults) | $140 (Kids under 12) Includes hike fee and shuttle from UWI St. Augustine (South Gate- Highway side)
Park inside UWI. You may have to enter from the North Gate if the south gate is closed.

Advance payment required and spots are only confirmed upon payment.
(NO REFUND ON MAXI FARES)

Upon registration you can choose to make payment via meeting a committee member or bank deposit.

You decide, then ask for banking info if needed.

Bring along:
An extra change of clothing and footwear.
Bring your own food and light refreshments:
Light refreshments for the trail and by the waterfall
Insect repellant
Towels
Personal medication as you may require.
Food to be consumed on return to vehicles.

Footwear: Sneakers/boots
NO SLIPPERS/SANDALS

Note: Life jackets are provided for those who wish to bathe in the deep areas of the pool.
