There will be a pre-Expo seminar for local hair stylist where International natural hair stylist Darrius Peace will be the feature speaker. Mr. Peace has more than 10 years experience as a professionally licensed natural hairstylist and has helped hundreds of clients make a seamless transition to wearing their coiled tresses with confidence. He will be in Trinidad to share his valuable insights with us. His methods are rooted in the philosophy that a smooth transition to healthy, natural hair involves not only a physical transformation, but a mental transformation as well. He has also been praised for his versatility and ability to produce style options that polish, modernize and redefine the image of today’s “natural woman.” This he will share with local hair stylist so that they too can develop the tools to assist locals with their transitioning journey. More importantly, this Natural Hair Health and Beauty Expo will allow local businesses that supply natural hair care products to showcase the items available to care for and manage natural kinky or curly hair. They will also have their products on sale. We are aware that consumers are not aware of what exists and this will be the opportunity to give more information on what is available. We encourage you to utilise this opportunity to interact with Mr Peace and all other Exhibitors at their respective booths throughout the day. They all have a wealth of knowledge that would assist you to better care and manage your natural hair. During the opening ceremony at 1.pm Mr Peace will also speak to participants on this year’s theme – Accept, Embrace, Love your natural hair. He will also be an Exhibitor where he will showcase his book ‘My Hair Ain’t Nappy: A black man’s introspection on natural hair.’ These will be on sale for TT$100. The day will also feature fun filled activities for patrons and a Natural Hair Fashion Show where ‘naturalistas’ will showcase their natural tresses.
