Join us on Saturday 19th May, 2018 as we visit Grande Riviere for an educational tour that focuses on the natural wonders of the amazing lifestyles of the Leatherback Sea Turtles!
Leatherbacks are the largest turtles on Earth, growing up to seven feet (two meters) long and exceeding 2,000 pounds (900 kilograms). These reptilian relics are the only remaining representatives of a family of turtles that traces its evolutionary roots back more than 100 million years.
Experience the nesting ritual of these giant reptiles from an arm’s length away. You'll even have the opportunity to touch the turtle and to interact closely during a specific time of the nesting ritual. Experienced guides will share important information about the biology and conservation of sea turtles.
Each year, an estimated 15 000 tourists, both foreign and local, visit Grande Rivière. It is a primary nesting ground for large numbers of Leatherback turtles. The beach itself is quite wide, with a considerable length, and slopes steeply as it enters the sea. The flat plateau of the beach is an area of loose sand which is favored by the turtles.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations made at least 3 days prior to the event incur a 50% fee.
Cancellations made less than 3 days prior to the event incur the full fee.
