Baddesse - DCFA Student Theatre Arts Production 2019

“Baddesse” is the product of the process work- research, discourse, sharing of attitudes, experiences and personal positions on the topic of Gender Based Violence (GBV)

It is a culmination of a semester's work exhibiting the central concerns, dramaturgy and the playwriting of the students and lecturer of the 2018/19 Production II Class (THEA 2299) in Theatre Arts, at the Department of Creative and Festival Arts, The University of the West Indies.

The focus of this play is the eradication of Gender-Based Violence and Violence Against Women and Girls in Trinidad and Tobago, through the sharing of key information and the promotion of significant social discourse. The core information re GBV was drawn from a 2017 UN Women sponsored research on GBV in Trinidad and Tobago.

The play will run from Friday 5th to Sunday 8th April 2019 then once more from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th April 2019, at The Cheeseman Building of the Department of Creative & Festival Arts, Gordon Street St. Augustine. Show times are 8pm daily, and 6pm on Sundays. General admission tickets are currently available for $100. Tertiary students with student ID pay $75, and Secondary School students pay $50.
