The Tallman Foundation invites you to a HOME courtyard screening of Art Connect.
Art Connect - A Documentary is a feature length film that reveals and illuminates how creativity has inspired and changed the lives of a group of young people in Laventille, Port of Spain.
The film documents the profound impact that creativity has had on a group of 'at risk' students, aged between 12-16, all of whom come from communities that are considered the most marred by violence.
The film is directed by Miquel Galofre, and produced by Evoke. Evoke is an NGO that not only produced the documentary, but also developed the Art Connect Learning Resource (ACLR).
The film has won "Best Documentary" and the "People's Choice Award" at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, as well as winning "Best Documentary" at the FEMI International Film Festival in Guadeloupe.
The similarities between Art Connect and The TallMan Foundation are obvious. The trans-formative power of the arts in the lives of youth is at our core.
